Jason recently retired from full time competition after
a successful amateur and professional career. As an amateur
Jason won numerous titles including the West Coast Championships
and he was also a member of the prestigious United States
Amateur Team with the likes of Kelly Slater, Taylor Knox,
Rob Machado, Pat O'Connell and others. On the Professional
Surfing Tour of America, Jason consistently ranked in
the top ten, finishing 2nd in 1999, 7th in 2000 and 9th
in 2001.
Since retiring from full time competition to focus on
running his surf camps Jason still selectively competes
to this day. Jason now mostly spends his time running surf camps in California, Costa Rica and with his wife in Hawaii(Kelea Surf Spa). Jason is kept busy giving private surf lessons in the off season, giving lessons in the past to Julia Roberts, Gisele Bundchen, and leanardo Di Caprio to name a few. These days Jason's favorite students are his two infant sons, Nathan age 2 and Nolan - newborn, who are already on the board and riding waves.
